Decreasing TNFα in serum and increasing mitotic index rate in albino mice treated with melatonin

Melatonin, as an endogenous hormone, is associated with the moderation of circadian rhythm. Besides controlling sleep-wake cycle, many physiological functions melatonin have been identified, such antioxidant, immune modulating, and anti-inflammatory. The current study was designed to estimate effect different doses on gene expression (TNF) in serum mitotic index (MI) bone marrow stem cells cytogenetic test. This conducted at Wasit University, College Science, Department Biology, Cytogenetic Laboratory, from period 2/11/2021 14/4/2022 using albino mice. mice were divided into four groups, a control group three groups according concentration (5, 10, &15 mg/kg), treated for seven consecutive days every dose. Results showed significant decrease (protein) TNF α- P≤0.05 all that used numbers increased same above melatonin, when results compared group.
